Hello! You are in charge of the Dragon's Crown wiki, correct? I thought something nice that we could add to it would be a discord sidebar, I've seen it in some wikis before and it could help grow the community even more. There's instructions here on it. I'd need to talk to the admin of the Dragon's Crown discord about setting some of it up, but I also wanted to see if you're on board since it says you have to be an administrator to activate it.
Let me know what you think! I'll be adding more to the wiki myself over time!
I happened to be swinging through and wanted to offer my services in sprucing up the main page. If you're interested, I can flesh it out a little more, including adding more content to the right side and making links more interesting by using images ;) I generally attempt to stick with the theme already present.
The revamp should be complete now ;) I still have to go through and spruce up the navigation menu at the top, and I'll do that first thing tomorrow morning.
I also took the liberty of adding a background to the site. More transparency can be added, or any other image, or even reverting back to the solid color - just wanted to give it a try to see what you thought :)
Very good job! I'd say the background image is good enough for now, much better than the solid color. I like it, but perhaps there is another more iconic image that could be used (I cannot think of one better at the moment, though).
Regarding the layout, there is a detail that I'd like to request to change. Your new design is neat and tidy, so I think the old image (slider) at the top in the "Welcome" section is no longer needed. Do you think you could remove it and instead include a level for something else at the bottom, below the "Enemies" section? Perhaps a section for items or something from the miscellaneous stuff, or even nothing altogether. I leave it up to you.
I was the original Admin on this Wiki after it was given to me by Ixbran, if I had known someone else was looking to be the admin I would've promoted you, sorry that you had to go through the trouble of adopting the Wiki.
I see that you've done great work so far though. I'm the admin of the Bayonetta Wiki, and I do most of the graphical art there. Since the majority of time that I can put aside for Wikia stuff is spent on that wiki I had forgotten about this one entirely.
Either way if you need anything of a graphical art nature, or just any help with anything in general feel free to ask.
No worries. The wiki is alive again so all is well. I may actually ask for your help with getting some art that I'd like to add to the wiki. I get back to you on that when I have the time to check what is missing.
By the way, are you versed in art history and fantasy art? art-eater identified several of the references in the art of the game, and I'm trying to do the same with the rest of the art, in particular Treasure Art, because I believe that all of them make a reference to something. I'm missing several, so perhaps you could check treasure art that doesn't have trivia data and see if you can identify any.
Sorry, but I don't actually own Dragon's Crown and I've never played it, which is one of the reasons why I never edited this Wiki, so I can't really comment on any references from the game, or of the content either.
Well, it is not necessary to own the game to see the art and read the lore. I added all Treasure Art to that page and that category so that all people could see the art and read the lore without having to complete the quests. For example, the lore of Slayer of 40 Thieves can be easily recognized as taken from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. That kind of thing is what I'm missing. That one was easy. But others, like Sea God's Envoy, look awfully familiar to me, but I simply can't recognize them.
If you have the time, please give them a look and see if you can recognize any of them. Perhaps you will be luckier than me identifying the ones missing.
Wow, please excuse my language when I say, holy crap. The work you've done here is amazing. When I had founded this wiki I was very excited for this title and had intended to get the game. However the issues regarding the apparent 'sexism' and the arguments going on at the time about the game had made me lose interest, and I sort of just left.
Though now I feel bad for having done that, there is so much that had been done, had I known this wiki was still active, I would have taken part in building it up. I am also sorry for not responding too the messages posted on my message wall, I dont think I ever got any notifications regarding it. I've only decided to check up on this wiki because I was clearing out my e-mail, and noticed there had been email notifications regarding edits.
You have done a wondrous job maintaining this wiki and i feel I can not apologize enough for not being here when it was needed. I hope you can forgive me for my actions.
Don't worry. There is nothing to forgive as the wiki is still alive and improving. What's important is to continue improving the wiki as much as possible. While I will have to slow down for a couple of weeks, I expect to get back on track after that to continue making improvements. I intend to make this wiki the best non-official English resource for Dragon's Crown. But I cannot do it alone. So, please, check the wiki out and let me know what else I could do to improve it and feel free to edit it.
I'm particularly interested in improving the homages of the Treasure Art, because I believe every single one of them makes a reference to something else such as Javleen the Hero, which was kind of surprising to me. So, please check them out and perhaps you could point the missing references in the paintings that don't have them.
I will try to do my best, as I said i lost interested in the game due to the arguments over the games sexisim, and as a result I never got the game. So I guess I'm a failure of a founder, so I cant apologize enough for that. However I can do my best to try and keep the place tidy and protect it from vandalism while your gone.
