The ancestors of dragons have come to light through ancient Elician texts. These primogenitors adapted to the land and sea and flourished, possessing all manner of shapes and skills.
Ancient magicians, in an attempt to take the great power of the dragons for their own, tried to create a spell to control and enslave these dragons. It is due to this arrogance that Elicia was destroyed by the Ancient Dragon long ago.

- The art is a reference to the popular depiction of Velociraptor due to the Jurassic Park franchise, although, as correctly stated by the title of the treasure art, the real species in which the known depiction is based is the Deinonychus.
- The lore of the treasure art shows that the dragons in the Dragon's Crown universe are descendants of dinosaurs.
- The lore of the treasure art confirms that the Ancient Dragon is the one that destroyed the Ancient Temple Ruins.
