This quest is available once you defeat the Ancient Dragon on Normal difficulty and turn in any quest, or finish the Hermit quest chain in the Lost Woods for the second time. Within the game menu, this quest is preceded by Bear Witness.

Deeper in Wallace's underground labyrinth lies a prison holding a myopia of cyclopes.

These creatures are said to have been alive since the days of mythology. They waged multiple wars against the three goddesses, and have tried to invade the human world. Each time, the gods and heroes have controlled or sealed them.

Sources have informed us that members of the Morneon religion are conspiring to free these dangerous cyclopes and sow chaos. You are to covertly surveil the underground labyrinth and discern their plans, and, if necessary, put a stop to them.

Completion message[]

You shut the door to the cyclopes' cell by yourself.

You must do this quest alone without the help of other players or NPCs. At Dragon's Haven Inn, change your party join settings to "Join Off". Alternatively, switch off NPC join settings in Game Options 2 and remain offline.

The hardest part of fighting the cyclops alone is having to deal with the ones trying to open the door while the others attack you, so always give priority to the hands that are trying to open the door whenever they appear. If you don't, not only could you get overwhelmed, but you are in danger of failing the mission due to running out of time. The first cyclops is the strongest, so focus first on the other, but not too fast because another will appear if the door hasn't fallen enough. Try to focus on a single cyclops, and, once you defeat him, attack the other. Use equipment that gives damage to humanoid foes.

Since the Elf doesn't have strong aerial attacks, make sure that you always have enough arrows for a Power Shot with Clone Strikes to deal with the hands that try to open the door in a single attack. With a Wizard, use Slow near the door and it will save you a lot of trouble. The Sorceress can use Blizzard to deal with the hands in the door without having to stop attacking the other cyclops.

If you have problems to complete this quest, tune down the difficulty level.
